Chesham is in initial stages of becoming a Transition Town following on from successful launches in nearby towns Tring and Berkhamsted. Amersham, Chalfont St. Peter and other nearby towns are in early stages too...

The Green Party registered a healthy 1,656 votes in the Chesham and Amersham constituency at the recent General Election, an increase of nearly 50% on their 2001 result.
