Green Party Candidate for District Councillor, Hilltop and Townsend

Gill Walker is married with 5 children and 5 grandchildren and has lived in Chesham since 1989.

She worked full time as Youth and Community Worker for Chesham Youth Centre and then Senior Practitioner for the Chiltern and South Bucks Area. She also worked as the manager for Chesham Oxfam. She previously served as a Liberal Town and District Councillor for Chesham on the Town and District Council, but had to step down in 2012 due to her husband's health and to assist him with his business.

She was able to use this time to reflect on which political party would be able to affect the most positive change for people, environment and economy. I very much enjoy living in Chesham with its selection of independently run shops and local businesses, local theatre, leisure facilities, parks and open spaces."

Gill's particular concerns are for the welfare and prospects for young people and the elderly in the Chesham and Amersham constituency; and keeping fracking not only out of the area but out of the whole of the UK.
Gill supports the Green Party's stand against HS2 and that it would be disastrous for the economy, environment and local communities in the Chesham and Amersham constituency.

She is very approachable and an excellent listener, is often out and about meeting constituents, and welcomes queries and feedback.

She can often be seen out carriage driving with her daughter and pony Bertie around the Ley Hill area, and enjoys spending time in our precious Chilters countryside.
